If you think the art of coachbuilding is dead, perhaps you should check out Ares Design’s current portfolio. Under the command of Dany Bahar and Waleed Al Ghafari, Ares has already developed a Targa version of the current Porsche 911 GT3, turned the four-door Bentley Mulsanne into a coupé, and even created a new interpretation of the De Tomaso Pantera. Okay, so some of the projects might be one-off prototypes or destined to remain on the drawing board. But at least the designers are not deprived of their creativity. Now, under the working title of ‘Project Pony’, Ares has brought the Ferrari 412 into the present. Based on the GTC4Lusso, the two-door, four-wheel-drive Grand Tourer retains the angular lines of the original car yet merges them with Ferrari’s current design language.
