Despite being one of the most stylish and appealing 911 variants, Porsche has never endowed the Targa with range-topping power. Thankfully, Ruf realised there was an opportunity for a ballistic Targa-topped 911, resulting in the incredible Ruf Turbo Florio you see here. Based on the 991.2-generation 911, this incredibly rare 2016 example is heading to Gooding Christie’s Amelia Island auction on March 6th. Here’s why you should definitely consider adding it to your garage. 

Striking a balance between the 911 coupe’s structural rigidity and the cabriolet’s limitless headroom, the Turbo Florio would be the perfect choice as a daily driver or grand touring companion. Powered by a Ruf-built 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat six producing a mighty 645 horsepower, the Turbo Florio boasts supercar levels of performance with a 210 mph top speed. However, Ruf’s changes didn’t end with the engine — the Turbo Florio boasts a highly modified body including twin intakes located above the rear wheels, a ducktail spoiler, and a front bumper with circular intakes inspired by the classic Carrera RSR racer of the 1970s. 

This particular example is finished in Sicilian Blue over Dark Grey Leather with matching Sicilian Blue stitching. Further adding to its grand touring credentials, this Turbo Florio was specced with all-wheel drive and Porsche’s lightning fast seven-speed PDK transmission. Now showing a mere 10,570 miles on the odometer, if you could have just one sports car in your garage, this Turbo Florio would tick an awful lot of boxes.
