Experience the W16 at its most brutal in this Bugatti Bolide

RM Sotheby’s Paris sale is brimming with seven-figure collector cars. We doubt any will lap a circuit as quickly as this factory-fresh Bugatti Bolide, equipped with the most powerful version of the legendary W16 engine.

The W16 engine has been the beating heart powering every modern Bugatti from the Veyron to the Mistral, but if you’re looking for its most powerful, brutally raw application, you’ll need to turn to this: the monstrous Bugatti Bolide. Powered by the most potent variant of Bugatti’s 8.0-litre quad-turbocharged W16 engine, the Bolide combines a 1,600 horsepower output with a 1,450 kilogram dry weight for an astonishing power-to-weight ratio of 0.91 kg/hp. The ludicrous spec sheet doesn’t end there, however, because the Bolide can also generate 2.5 G of cornering forces and 2,900 kilograms of downforce, lending this track-only special LMP1-rivalling performance and handling dynamics.

Now heading to RM Sotheby’s Paris sale on January 28th, this 2024 example is presented in as-new condition, with a mere 112 kilometres on its odometer. One of just 40 units ever made, this Bolide has been specced to perfection, with an exterior mainly finished in tinted Turquoise Carbon, while a Black Carbon finish has been used for the lower surfaces and rocker aero panel. Climb inside the interior — which lands somewhere between the functional brutality of a Le Mans prototype and the luxury you’d expect from Bugatti’s hypercars — and you’ll discover Beluga Black Alcantara with matching stitching throughout. Punctuating the otherwise stealthy interior spec are the headrests embroidered with the Bolide logo in Gris Rafale thread, while a track plate depicting the layout of the Circuit de la Sarthe sits at the front of the roof panel.

However, if you’re lucky enough to take this Bolide out for its maiden laps around your track of choice, we doubt you’ll be able to spare a thought for the gorgeous specification. Thanks to its permanent all-wheel drive system, the Bolide will rocket from 0 to 100 km/h in only 2.2 seconds and will cap out at a hair-raising top speed of 380 km/h. If your idea of heaven is thoroughly demolishing anyone and everyone at your next track day, the Bolide is the perfect tool for the job.
