Watch the sons of two DTM legends race this radical restomod around the Ring

190E, Ludwig, Sonax - it’s 1992 all over again! The glory days of DTM are set to return this May at the Nürburgring 24 as HWA showcase their EVO.R, which will join another two examples for the gruelling race, with sponsorship from iconic brands, as well as a driver lineup straight from the 1990s!

In a gloriously poetic return to its roots, 190E restomodders HWA show the EVO.R, a bespoke racing variant of its road-going car, set to compete in the 2026 Nürburgring 24 hours. If that wasn't cool enough, they've also secured some iconic brands as sponsors, and next-gen racers with historical names.

Previously announced as a two-car entry, HWA has increased it to three, where each HWA EVO.R will sport an updated homage to a beloved period livery, with heritage sponsors including Kärcher and Sonax already confirmed to return.

“Having been involved in top level motorsport at the Nürburgring for over 25 years, the circuit is like a second home to us,” said Martin Marx, CEO of HWA. “We are naturally incredibly excited to finally be competing in a car of our own, but to see that excitement matched by so many drivers, fans, customers and sponsors makes it all the more special.”

The period-correct goodness continues in the Pro/Am driver line-up, which includes Sebastian Asch and Luca Ludwig - sons of legendary 190E EVO II DTM racers Roland Asch and Klaus Ludwig. Alongside three-time Nürburgring 24 hours winner, Markus Winkelhock. All eyes will firmly be on these incredible machines when the flag drops in May!
