It was only a matter of time, but both variants of Bugatti’s EB 110 hypercar have now exceeded the two million dollar mark following a striking rise in values over the past few years. Last year a silver 1994 EB 110 Super Sport sold for an impressive 2.7 million dollars at auction - a hefty sum for sure, but hardly surprising when you consider just 30 examples of the Super Sport were built.
Now, the GT has followed the lead of the Super Sport, with not one, but two record-breaking sales within 24 hours of each other. On February 2nd, a Silver EB 110 was sold at RM Sotheby’s Paris auction for 2.07 million dollars - a record breaking sale, yet one that was soon to be beaten. Then, a new high water mark was set for EB 110 values when the hammer dropped on a blue EB 110 GT for 2.08 million dollars at Bonham’s Paris auction, far exceeding the car’s 1.5 million dollar estimate. If you look at the auction figures for these cars 10 years ago, they were selling for around 250,000 dollars, just over a tenth of what they go for now. While EB 110s can still be had for less than two million dollars, if you want the seven figure number on the receipt for your hyper car from Campogalliano to begin with a one rather than a two, you better act fast.
