Godzilla goes glamping with this Safari R35 Nissan GT-R

Boasting AWD traction and ludicrous pace, it’s about time somebody Safari-modded the R35-generation Nissan GT-R. This outrageous 2010 example for sale with Wim Prins could be your ultimate post-apocalyptic supercar.

Unveiled at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show, the R35-generation Nissan GT-R was a technological tour de force, boasting 473 horsepower, a rapid 3.5 second 0-60 mph time and a top speed just shy of 200 mph. In the years since its launch, it has proven itself to be a true AWD supercar killer, and one more than worthy of its Godzilla ancestors. However, now that R35 prices seemed to have bottomed out and appear to be on the climb, it’s the perfect time to start getting a little experimental with this super grand tourer. It just so happens that Wim Prins is offering this outstanding Safari-modded example, ripe and ready for your next adventure.

Riding on lifted suspension and equipped with all-terrain Toyo tyres hiding under wheel arch extensions, this GT-R looks as though it just rolled off the set of the next Mad Max movie. Aside from the extra suspension travel, this GT-R has been equipped with a roof rack and a spare wheel, while night time expeditions are made easier with a set of integrated rally lights in addition to a roof rack-mounted light bar. Power is also up from the launch model, with the dealer stating this example puts out a whopping 592 horses.

Step inside this 54,237 km, two-owner 2010 example and you’ll notice that pleasingly little has changed in the GT-R’s comfortable cabin, with swathes of Alcantara and leather present and correct. There’s even a powerful factory Bose sound system, perfect for blasting Africa by Toto at maximum volume as you speed through the wilderness. Who wouldn’t want to daily this thing?
