What a beautiful design it is, isn't it? Especially with the hardtop shown here. The Mercedes-Benz 190SL was a masterstroke by Mercedes-Benz. The car was introduced to ride on the enormous fame of the Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing. A car that is only reserved for the elite in all periods. A 190SL was intended as a small version of the 300SL. There is also a four-cylinder in it, and the car is more compact. This example has been fully restored and technically overhauled in the recent past. The car is therefore in beautiful condition and looks great. The combination of the black exterior and the red leather upholstery on the seats creates a beautiful contrast that further emphasizes the elegant lines of the 190SL.

The bodywork looks beautiful. The sheet metal looks beautiful and is in very good condition. The hardtop is also in very good condition and fits perfectly everywhere. The 190SL is equipped with fog lights which are also in very good condition. The paint has been completely repainted during the restoration and is in good condition and is practically completely free of traces of use. The 190SL stands on the original steel wheels fitted with good tires in the correct sizes. The rims are of course fitted with the original hubcaps, which are partly chrome-plated and partly painted in the colour of the car.

The interior has been completely reupholstered. The work was carried out correctly and with a great sense of originality. The seats are upholstered in beautiful supple red leather. Naturally, the seats have also been refilled. The carpets are anthracite in colour and have beautiful black piping. The carpets naturally fit beautifully. The top of the dashboard is covered with the same leather as the seats and is also in very good condition. The space behind the front seats offers space for extra luggage. The instruments and controls are all in very good condition, look great and function as they should.

The engine and transmission were overhauled during the restoration. The engine runs beautifully and the transmission shifts precisely. The 1.9 litre four-cylinder engine produces 105 hp. The engine is mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Also, matters such as the chassis and suspension were fully addressed during the restoration and contributed to the good handling of this 190SL. The car is a pleasure to drive. The engine is sufficiently powerful to provide appealing performance, as the car weighs only 1,160 kilograms. The car is, as befits a real Mercedes-Benz, a beautiful all-rounder. Whether you want to speed up a mountain pass or enjoy a relaxing tour or simply drive home from Lake Garda in one day, the 190SL can do it all.

In short, not only a beautiful 190SL to see but also a pleasure to drive.
