Description
Incredibly rare Lancia Delta HF Evoluzione Gr. N (street legal), last one still existing of only 4 cars ever produced by Abarth, first registration to Fiat SPA, original plates (TO), today registered to 2 times world rally champion Miki Biasion.
In the past, for reconnaissance tests, rally drivers would use Gr. A mule cars. When in 1992 FIA enforced street legal mule cars, Lancia had Abarth produced 4 Lancia Delta HF Evoluzione, one for each of its drivers Juha Kankkunen, Didier Auriol, Philippe Bugalski and Andrea Aghini.
After the 1992 season, on the occasion of the Memorial Bettega at Bologna’s Motor Show, these four cars were used for a show stage race between four of the Lancia’s rally champions. The brand’s marketing department had customized these Delta with the driver's names: 2 cars were painted black for Munari and Cerrato, and 2 were painted white for Waldegard and Aghini.
The car that we are offering was raced by Bjorn Waldegard, the Swedish rally driver had an extremely successful career since the 60's up to 1992, winning many rallies with Ford, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota and of course Lancia, he was also the first world rally champion (1979).
It is in perfect original conditions with only 39.000 km and is now registered to its 3rd owner (1st was Fiat Spa, 2nd private collector), the 2 times world rally champion Miki Biasion. Included in the sale is also the original rollbar.
