Presented in the late 1960s, the Ferrari Dino 246 GT stands as one of the most refined and forward-thinking expressions of Maranello’s expertise. Conceived as a tribute to Alfredo “Dino” Ferrari, who passed away prematurely, it introduced a new philosophy for the brand with the adoption of a mid-rear mounted V6 engine. The example we are presenting today is a Ferrari Dino 246 GT first registered on September 3rd, 1972, and originally sold new in the United States by the importer “Chinetti Garthwaite Imports.” Imported into the Netherlands in 2005, it benefited from a bodywork and paint restoration carried out by “Maranello BV,” a recognized specialist. Finished in its original color “Celeste Metallizzato” (106–A16), it is paired with its original leather interior “Pelle Nuvola” (VM 3015), fully respecting the spirit and authenticity of the model. The car is currently registered in France with a standard registration.

This example has been maintained with particular care. In 2013, the engine underwent a complete rebuild by a recognized marque specialist, including the replacement of the valves to allow for use with unleaded fuel. Over €35,000 in invoices document the work carried out. At that time, the car showed just over 80,000 km, and has covered approximately 5,000 km since the engine rebuild, presenting today in excellent running condition.

Numerous mechanical and ancillary components have been refurbished or replaced, including the clutch, cooling fans, starter motor, brake calipers, steering rack, timing chains, ignition wiring, as well as various suspension and running gear components. The electrical system has been fully revised, the alternator rebuilt, and the original air conditioning system restored and recharged. The interior presents to a very high standard, with new carpets, chrome elements in excellent condition, and many original features retained.
