Description
Presented in elegant Rosso Rubino over Pelle Beige, this 1972 Ferrari Dino 246 GT is an E-Series example that combines beautiful original specification with a well-documented history in the USA and Europe. A factory colour certificate (No. 0020178) confirms its delivery finish of Rosso Rubino 20-Y-348 with VM 846 leather, while power comes from the classic 2.4-litre V6 with triple Weber 40 DCF 14 carburettors and ANSA exhaust, delivering the unmistakable Dino soundtrack.
Completed on 30 October 1972 as a US-spec car, chassis 04948 spent decades in California and Atlanta in the hands of enthusiastic owners, serviced by recognised specialists including Ferrari of Atlanta and Lyle Tanner Enterprises, where it received desirable Campagnolo wheels and extensive mechanical attention in 2004. In 2008 the car was exported to Denmark, where it benefited from a documented Dinitrol anti-corrosion treatment, before joining the Chelsea 1979 collection in Barcelona.
Showing just 54,767 miles and accompanied by an important report by Dino expert Matthias Bartz together with a substantial history file of invoices, registrations and certificates, this 246 GT offers an attractive blend of provenance, specification and usability, a highly desirable example of one of Ferrari’s most characterful road cars.
