FuoriConcorso KraftMeister celebrates German Autobahn stormers on Lake Como

From the country that brought you Bauhaus, Jägermeister, Kraftwerk and “Vorsprung durch Technik” – this year’s FuoriConcorso will put the spotlight on Germany’s finest performance cars. Expect a speed date with countless icons of over-engineering on 16–17 May 2026 on the shores of Lake Como.

After bringing together the greatest sports and racing cars from Great Britain and Italy, our favourite contemporary celebration of car culture will put the spotlight on the greatest automobiles made in Germany. Fittingly dubbed “FuoriConcorso KraftMeister”, the event creators will take their guests on a journey into the creative force and engineering excellence of German automobiles.

Since its launch in 2019, FuoriConcorso has managed to create one of the automotive world's most influential and stylish events curated about an annual theme, regularly drawing large crowds and deservedly winning Route Classiche's acclaimed “Event of the Year” award in 2025. The glamorous open air exhibition — which takes place at the same weekend as the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este in the luscious gardens of Villa del Grumello and Villa Sucota overlooking Lake Como —will focus on era-defining German production cars whose technical and aesthetic breakthroughs still shape automotive design today. These will be joined by landmark competition cars that rewrote motorsport history, visionary concept cars and experimental prototypes, as well as radical, boundary-pushing creations from leading German tuners.

Visually, KraftMeister is built around the idea of sharp edges: a metaphor for a design language in which form follows function with almost ruthless, uncompromising clarity. Rooted in modernist Bauhaus principles and refined between the 1970s and 1990s, when Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche built some of the most acclaimed automobiles of all time, this year's Fuoriconcorso theme celebrates control, efficiency, speed and devotion to technical perfection. The visual identity reinforces the narrative, from the emblematic “four heads” motif tracing the evolution of driver and machine, to a bold use of industrial orange and a retro-futuristic font inspired by 1980s computer culture.

More than a concours, FuoriConcorso 2026 positions itself as an immersive cultural experience engineered for collectors, creators and enthusiasts who see the car as a way of thinking, not just an object. This week, the KraftMeister theme will be officially unveiled at Retromobile Paris, where FuoriConcorso will host a dedicated space offering a first glimpse into one of the most compelling automotive events on the international calendar.

We at Classic Driver are proud to support our friends at Fuoriconcorso as the headline media partner since the very beginning — and we cannot wait to see all the magnificent cars made in Germany they will line up on 16-17 May 2026 on the shores of Lake Como.
