This specific Ferrari 250 GT Pininfarina Cabriolet was built in 1961 and was sold new to its first owner in Tivoli, Rome, Italy. The car retains matching numbers and a complete ownership history from new. This example comes with a factory hardtop!

Later the car was exported to the United States of America and until 1986 the car was owned by a Ferrari enthusiast from Florida. In 1986 the car returned to Italy and was shipped to Livorno for its new owner, who kept the car until 2013. In the period 1987-1988 the car was restored in Milan. Invoices of the restoration are still present.

The car remained in Italy until 2013 when the car was acquired by VSOC for the current Dutch owner. Over the past 13 years, this Ferrari has formed part of an important Ferrari collection.

This wonderful and rare car comes with a well documented history file, showing its ‘Foglio Montaggio’ (Built Sheet) which is an interesting read, original Certification of Ferrari Classiche, ownership documents, ACI papers and invoices of the restoration.

The engine pulls strong and the gear change is very smooth. With the overdrive on 4th gear the car can be driven fast all day long. All numbers have been confirmed by Ferrari to be original and matching. The car is registered in Holland.

Model history

Ferrari had been doing well through the 1950s with the 250 series of road and racing cars. The company’s most successful early line, the 250 series included many variants and are characterized by their use of the Lampredi or Colombo designed 3 liter V12 engine.

The Ferrari 250 GT Pininfarina Cabriolet is one of the true Gran Turismo cars. Not particularly sporty, but very elegant. The later examples with overdrive, disc brakes and telescopic shock absorbers are preferable. Only 204 examples were built of the series II.

With its timeless and elegant design, the Ferrari 250 GT Pininfarina Cabriolet was - and still is - one of the most desirable cars of its time.
