EXTERIOR
Modestly proportioned, the clean, simple lines of the 993 generation were a fitting end to the air cooled era of 911. Presented in a classic shade of Polar Silver metallic this 993 Targa has stood the test of time well; carrying over the integrated extending rear spoiler from the 964, and the first generation to sport a panoramic ‘Targa’ roof, the paired back design means the car a still looks sharp 25 years after the design first came to life.

Overall the exterior of the car shows in very clean condition, with the metallic paintwork still showing with a consistent shine and just a handful of minor stonechips to note.

INTERIOR
A classic contrast to the silver exterior, this 993 Targa is upholstered in black leather which spans the doors, dashboard and wonderfully supportive sports seats. Having covered just 34k miles from new condition of the interior is tidy throughout, with minimal wear to the leather seats and the black carpets showing free from any stains or damage.

Specified with air conditioning and a Becker radio system the interior of the 993 is more than comfortable to use on a daily basis, with the added benefit of the Targa roof creating the chance to enjoy the open air feel whilst much less exposed to the elements than in a conventional drop top.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The last of the air-cooled 911s the 993’s 3.6L engine was initially similar to the previous generation, but an update saw a VarioRam system fitted which increased mid range torque and boosted power from 272bhp to 285bhp. Benefitting from the updated engine this 993 Targa still feels quick, even by model standards, managing 60 mph in just 6.4 seconds and going onto a top speed of 168mph.

Suiting the open air design of the cabin the Tiptronic gearbox isn’t the purists choice, but it perfectly fits the GT character of the 993 Targa. Providing smooth changes in fully automatic mode the driver has the option to switch the gearbox to a manual mode, which offers faster changes via the Tiptronic buttons mounted on the steering wheel.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Fitted at each corner the 17″ split rims show in very good condition, free from any signs of corrosion or curbing, and are wrapped in matching N rated Michelin Pilot Sport tyres all good depth remaining all around.

Red Porsche callipers show through the spokes, free from and fading, whilst the discs and pads have plenty of material left.

HISTORY FILE
Remarkably well cared for this 993 Targa was supplied new in June 1996 by Jebsen & Co Porsche in Hong Kong, who also carried out all 13 services on the car before it was imported to the UK by its current owner in 2021.

Since driving in the UK the car has been used sparingly and has been serviced by specialists Porschatech at 31,552 miles on 31/01/2022.

Present with the car is the complete original book pack, folder of service invoices, V5 and 2 keys.
