The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL of the R107 series offered here was registered by Mercedes-Benz for the first time on 18.03.1987. On 20.07.1988 it came into the care of its first owner, who owned it until 2001. Since 2001 until today it is in the possession of its second owner. The mileage of about 47 Tkm can be traced by means of documents. The chassis is not too tight and provides a pleasant driving experience.

The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL R107 still shines in its very well preserved silver first varnish. The interior consists of red fabric with individual red leather accents, giving this R107 an attractive colour combination. Features include heated seats, electric windows and an automatic aerial.

History of the series

The descendant of the now legendary SL series created in 1954 was also drawn by the designer of the 300 SL (W 198), Friedrich Geiger. With its headlamp design, it established a new design line at Mercedes-Benz in 1971, with many elements also returning in the S-Class (W 116) introduced a year later. The 107 series was available as a coupé (C 107) and roadster (R 107), the majority of which was produced as an export model for the USA and enjoyed great popularity there, mostly as a V8 model. The series set new standards in the field of passive safety: in addition to a defined crumple zone, reinforced A-pillars and a safe four-spoke steering wheel right from the start, ABS was also available from 1980 and a driver's airbag two years later. Thanks to the wide range of engine options and extensive optional extras, the R 107 remained in the range for over 18 years and, after the G-Class, is the longest series produced by Mercedes in history.
