Description
Here we have a lovely Italian made model of Nikki Lauda's 1977 Ferrari 312 T2 Formula 1 car The 1976 season left Lauda beaten after his tragic crash at the Nurburgring in what was then the numbered 1 Ferrari, with the championship being secured by rival James Hunt. Lauda's return the season after in the number 11 Ferrari 312 T2, was a feat in itself, but a stormy season for Lauda nonetheless. Disputes with Ferrari, wins, bad races and an eventual split with the manufacturer in the build up to the Canadian Grand Prix, created a stormy end to Lauda and Ferrari, but in the process a historic car. A sizeable model, at 1/6 scale, it is a well crafted model and eye catching Ferrari red and decals all still well presented with the bespoke Perspex display case. Made by Polistil Spa, for Italian Distiller Toschi as a promotional gift sent to Formula 1 drivers, team owners, officials and good customers hence few would have been made.
