Description
At the crossroads of design, performance and luxury, the Ferrari 250 GTL stands out as one of the most remarkable creations of Maranello, produced in little more than 350 pieces. It’s not by chance that the Lusso fascinated racers, gentlemen and movie stars alike: Steve McQueen was between the many who could not resist its charme.
Beneath the sensually sculptural body of this “Grand Tourer” designed by Pininfarina, the iconic Colombo V12 delivers 240 horsepower through a manual 4-speed grarbox and is able to thrust the “Lusso” to an impressive 240 Km/h. It’s in this performance – and in the superb handling of the Lusso – that Ferrari’s unique racing expertise comes to the surface, turning this model’s drive in a truly compelling experience.
Performance goes hand in hand with comfort, with sumptuous interiors blending leather surfaces and wooden trims and creating an incredibly refined cocoon. The distinctively positioned gauges make this cockpit one of the most elegant in Ferrari’s GT lineage.
This specific model – chassis 4359, with Ferrari certificate of authenticity – was the very first 250 GTL produced in 1963 (and 9th in total). Today, decades after, the Lusso still is a shining example of how enlighted design, craftsmanship and engineering can turn a car into a timeless masterpiece.
