One of the most eagerly awaited Corvettes of modern times, the C6 ZR1 debuted in 2009 as the production version of the long-rumored "Blue Devil." It featured a supercharged 6.2-litre LS9 V-8 which in stock form enabled a top speed of 192 mph, as well as extensive use of carbon fiber body trim, a polycarbonate window in the hood viewing the engine, enlarged wheels, carbon-ceramic brakes, and Magnetic Selective Ride Control. The result was a truly fearsome machine, both to admire and to drive, and was quickly embraced by the Corvette community as one of the finest versions ever produced.
The Taylor ZR1 was ordered in Inferno Orange Metallic with the 3ZR Premium Equipment Group, including custom Ebony leather interior with heated memory power seats, Bose Premium seven-speaker sound system, and power telescopic steering wheel. Interestingly According to information in the file, it was originally listed for sale by Reliable Chevrolet of Springfield, Missouri, in September 2010. It was acquired by Brandon Martin of Charleston, South Carolina, who had fitted it with Carvaggio Daytona seats and custom steering wheel; carbon fiber engine cover, rear diffuser, and 'shark bar;' body stripes; Spectra carbon fiber headlights; and a thicker ceramic-coated heat shield. The car was also outfitted with Lingenfelter Stage Two upgraded supercharger components, with dyno testing thereafter, a copy of which is on file, indicating a pavement-pulling 668.8 ft/lbs of torque.
Jim Taylor purchased the car in Illinois in 2013 and has since driven it regularly, noting it to be one of the fastest automobiles that he has ever enjoyed. At the time of cataloging, it had recorded 10,046 miles, and it remains in excellent overall condition, accompanied by a clean CARFAX. It is ready for a new caretaker to enjoy.
