Attention enthusiasts. This superbly straight Alfa Romeo GTV6 comes directly from an impressive collection owned by a true Alfista. This beautiful example was originally delivered in the Netherlands and remains in a fine, original condition both cosmetically and mechanically. In short, a pleasure to look at and an even greater pleasure to drive. This legendary Romeo was recently traded in with us for another Alfa classic, the Giulietta Sprint. A painful loss for its previous owner, but a unique opportunity for the next. Who will be the next to call this dark grey gem their own?

History
Every Alfa Romeo has Italian roots. Basta. But it hardly gets more Dutch than this example. From its very first owner, this GTV6 has always been registered in the Netherlands. Secretly, we hope it will stay that way, although we know there is serious interest from knowledgeable enthusiasts abroad as well. And rightly so, because the GTV6 is a stunning machine and a delight to drive. Alfa Romeo has always been known for model names that leave little to the imagination, and this one is no exception. The GTV6 is a coupé based on the Alfetta, or better said, a true Grand Tourer, powered by the same six cylinder engine as the Alfa 6. The name therefore carries a double meaning. V for Veloce and V6 referring to the engine itself. Over the years, our example has been kept nicely original and well maintained mechanically. Ideal for the enthusiast who wants to enjoy immediately after purchase without having to turn a wrench.

Exterior
If there is one colour that perfectly complements the timeless character of the Alfa GTV6, it is anthracite. Timeless in appearance, yet forward thinking in its aerodynamic design. The two door coupé shape of the Gran Turismo Veloce 6 is instantly recognisable. Unique features include the large glass surface along the sides and, of course, the imposing power dome in the bonnet, providing both space and cooling for the engine. Combined with various black accents, a wide and low front end and those wonderfully angular lines so typical of the eighties, the Alfa Romeo GTV6 has been a bold and charismatic classic for nearly 45 years.

Interior
The cockpit is just as clean and characterful as the exterior. Unlike the outside, however, grey does not dominate here. Beige seat and door upholstery combined with a beige headliner, brown carpeting and wooden accents on the steering wheel and gear lever elevate the GTV6 to true taste maker status. The dashboard is beautifully minimalist, featuring three primary gauges housed separately, with an extended panel concealing the remaining instruments. Below that, toggle switches and sliders control the ventilation. Pure nostalgia.

Technology and performance
With a displacement of just under 2.5 litres, the GTV6 with its V6 engine derived from the Alfa 6 delivers 160 horsepower and 220 Newton metres to the rear wheels. In this model, the Dell’Orto carburettors made way for the Bosch L Jetronic injection system, adding a welcome touch of reliability. Yet it is the soul of this engine that truly speaks to Alfisti.
