For decades, the Südtirol Classic Schenna has been one of the most important vintage car rallies in the Alpine region. This traditional event will take place for the fortieth time from July 5 to 12, 2026. Even after four decades, the rally has remained true to its original character. Above all, it is an Alpine-Mediterranean pleasure rally. It is designed for people who prefer to experience historic automobiles live on winding mountain roads or in palm-lined villages instead of in air-conditioned garages or dusty museums.
For one week, the sun-drenched village above Meran becomes a meeting point for longtime fans, new participants, and spectators. These visitors appreciate the mountain panorama, the local hospitality, and the South Tyrolean cuisine as much as they enjoy the beautiful classics that evoke nostalgic memories. A total of 110 teams can take part in this year’s anniversary edition. They are divided into three groups ranging from pre-war cars to selected youngtimers. Vehicles that left the factory in 1985 or earlier are eligible to participate. The rally is explicitly not about speed. Instead, the focus is on regularity. Certain distances must be covered in exactly specified times. This gives drivers of completely different vehicles the same chances, from underpowered small cars to powerful sports coupes.

The rally stays true to its successful recipe while adding special anniversary highlights. The pre-program increases the anticipation for the main event. It includes an excursion to the Timmelsjoch and a visit to Europe's highest motorcycle museum, a panoramic stop at the Feldererhof above Meran and a tour of the Ritten sunny plateau.
The 40th Südtirol Classic Schenna officially starts on Wednesday with the vehicle inspection in the town center. This is followed by a prologue through the Meran region. Later, guests enjoy the Classic Welcome evening at the illuminated Schenna Castle and the subsequent anniversary party. The highlights of the week include the grand Dolomites loop with the Würzjoch and Jaufen Pass. There is also a scenic drive along the South Tyrolean Wine Road to Trentino and stops in small villages with a traditional festival atmosphere. On Friday evening, the Retro Défilé on the Meran Kurpromenade features period style, music, dance, and a flying buffet.
The main highlight is the Glitter & Glamour gala on Saturday evening at the Merano Kurhaus. It features live music, show acts, and the award ceremony. The event concludes on Sunday with a relaxed morning pint in the center of Schenna. Those who choose to participate in this anniversary edition will enjoy a stylish summer tour. Driving fun, picturesque landscapes, and the unique South Tyrolean atmosphere play the leading roles.
