It’s extraordinary how ideas snowball when they belong to visionary creatives such as Ricardo Pessoa, founder of the Lisbon-based Land Rover restoration company Cool & Vintage. A road trip in Malibu with a friend and his tangerine-coloured classic Porsche 911 S a few years ago sowed the seeds for a Series III build finished in the same shade of orange. When a British customer commissioned a Landy to be enjoyed in the relaxed and low-key Portuguese beach town of Comporta, not only was tangerine the perfect colour, but Pessoa went one step further and paired the tastefully modified car with a spectacular villa in the region. 

That villa is now available to rent, complete with the bright orange Cool & Vintage Land Rover. Developed by Gonçalo and Patrícia Pessoa and architected by José Alberto, the contemporary holiday home with its modernist wooden facades is located on the rural Sublime Comporta retreat complex and boasts four suites each with its own private terrace and bathroom, a generously sized private pool and floor-to-ceiling windows that allow the bright Portuguese sunlight to pour in. Its minimalism and Instagramability is rivalled only by the Land Rover Series III that’s patiently waiting outside to ferry you and your loved ones to the beach.
