The GT2 is known for being very raw and demanding to drive, lacking the electronic traction and stability systems typical of modern Turbo models: power is sent directly to the rear wheels without assistance, requiring skill and control.

The 996 GT2 Clubsport, one of the most extreme and rare 911s ever produced by Porsche, is a track-focused version of the already formidable Porsche 911 GT2 based on the 996 generation (produced from 2001 to 2005). It is a car built for experienced drivers seeking extreme performance and intense driving sensations, while still remaining road legal.

• Engine: 3.6L twin-turbo flat-six “Mezger”, derived from the 911 Turbo unit but further enhanced for the GT2. Output: 462 hp (Mk1)
• Transmission: 6-speed manual gearbox with rear-wheel drive
• Performance: 0–100 km/h in approximately 4.1 seconds and top speed exceeding 315 km/h
• Chassis: lighter than the Turbo, with lowered suspension and a stiffer setup for improved performance and handling

The Clubsport Package adds true race-car elements compared to the standard GT2:

GT2 models are generally quite rare: approximately 1,287 units of the 996 GT2 were produced in total, of which only around 70 were factory-equipped with the Clubsport package like the example offered here.
