Beschreibung

McLaren Barcelona / Chelsea 1979 presents this beautifully preserved 1977 Porsche 911S 2.7 Targa, finished in the rare and elegant Diamond Sahara Metallic, a special-order color outside the standard palette of the year, paired with an original Natural leather interior.

This example forms part of the final production year of the factory 2.7-litre narrow-body series, marking the end of the 2.7 era before the engine was replaced by the 3.0-litre unit in the following generation. It retains its matching-numbers engine and chassis, keeping intact the authentic proportions of the early 911s while benefiting from the fully galvanized body introduced during this period.

Mechanically, the car is powered by the 2,687 cc flat-six producing 165 hp and 235 Nm of torque, paired with the Type 915 five-speed manual transmission and capable of 210 km/h. With only 1,724 Targa units produced in 1977, it is one of the rarer configurations of this era.

In 2021, the car underwent a high-quality, comprehensive restoration. It was refinished in its correct Glasurit Diamond Sahara Metallic, and both engine and gearbox were rebuilt to factory standards. All major mechanical systems were overhauled, the air-conditioning system was converted to modern R134 refrigerant, and the original interior was preserved with remarkable care. The Fuchs wheels were professionally restored in Germany, and approximately 20,000 km have been driven since the restoration. Compression is excellent on all cylinders, confirming its mechanical health. The car remains completely rust-free and still carries its original underbody protection.

It comes with complete documentation, its original Porsche tool kit, the owner’s manuals, three original Porsche keys, new tires, and a full maintenance history — a rare level of completeness for a 1970s 911.

Overall, this 911S 2.7 Targa stands out as a collector-grade example of the final 2.7 generation: elegant, rare, exceptionally restored and historically significant. A superb choice for any enthusiast seeking an early G-series 911 in truly outstanding condition.
