?History:
This Maserati Mexico is a one-off prototype built by Carrozzeria Frua. Unveiled as a world premiere at the coachbuilder’s stand at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1968, it embodies designer Pietro Frua’s most elegant vision, notably evoking the lines of the legendary Aga Khan’s 5000 GT. After being displayed as a show car at Frua, it returned to the Maserati workshops to be mechanically finalized.
Delivered new in March 1970 to the Spanish importer Auto Paris, based in Barcelona. The car remained in Spain for 50 years in the hands of two owners, including a Catalan collector who kept it for 33 years.

In 2013, it joined a major Belgian collection and underwent a complete restoration:
The bodywork was fully restored by the Philippe Vilain workshop in Brussels, and the mechanical components by a brand specialist.

The current owner purchased it at Bonhams in 2015 and continues to maintain this unique example in excellent condition.
An extremely rare find for a prototype, the burgundy leather interior is entirely original and superbly preserved. It features an authentic patina, complete with its unique instruments and a horizontal clock between the front seats
