Description
Just 232 Jensen SP’s were produced with reportedly less than 100 surviving.
This is one of the few examples retaining its Six Pack Holley Carburetor setup.
Owned by the brother of the owner of Jensen parts and service this car has been in his ownership since 2013 in which time the car has been regularly used and maintained.
Originally finished in Yellow with contrasting black interior, the car underwent a restoration at the Jensen Car Company in the 90’s at which time the colour was changed to Red.
The provenance includes the Jensen Car Company work sheets which itemize the restoration, supported by photographs. Besides this, there are well documented files on the car dating back from when it was new upto present day.
In the latter years, this SP has been serviced and maintained by the Jensen specialists Richard Appleyard Ltd and again the provenance includes invoices covering its maintenance and improvement.
Being an older restoration, the car presents nicely but has some patina as one would expect. The underside of the car is in good condition and whilst there are a few small service items needing attention, these will be sorted as part of the sale.
On the road, this Jensen SP is well sorted, everything works, and the engine and drivetrain perform faultlessly.
Sometimes you drive your dream car only to be disappointed, but that’s not the case with the SP. The engine feels so muscular even by todays measure.
0-60 in less than 7 seconds and a top speed of 145MPH must have been incredible back in 1972.
