Description

This exacting tool room copy of the infamous Jaguar C type mirrors the early cars which used drum brakes and the road going XK120 3.4 litre engine with twin carburetors.

Bodied by Shapecraft of Northampton onto its Chassis constructed by Andy Thomas and the engine built by Dave Butcher (a Ron Beaty trained apprentice), the attention to detail of KCA 717 is remarkable, its aluminium body has been crafted from the original drawings of the actual factory C-Types. Even down to the detail of the six mounting points for the headlight covers, the strenghtening bars on the bulkhead and the rivets and welds remain visible through the paint work.
This car has some even more special design ideas incorperated and they replicate the modifications that Sir Striling Moss requested for his original C-type when racing in period.  These being the louvres in the door and side panel facing forward to bring air flow into the cockpit and extra louvres placed in the sills to help release heat from around the exhaust.

The car competed in 2019 in the Malta Classic and is ready to be used both on the road and racetrack.
