EXTERIOR
Misano Red was 1 of only 3 colours available for the BMW E30 M3 Evolution 2 editions and it perhaps the most iconic of the trio. The deep sports red colour makes for a purposeful stance, perfectly capturing the box arches, Evo specific front and rear spoilers to create what is arguably one of the most iconic silhouettes in motoring.

Overall this example presents extremely well, no surprise given its extensive service history and long term owners that have never let this touring car fall into disrepair. The red finish remaining vibrant throughout with only some light stone chips to note its time on the road, there are no signs of corrosion or fading across the bodywork while the underneath presents in equal measure to the stunning exterior.

INTERIOR
This M3 is fitted with the half leather interior, standard to all Evo 2 cars that rolled off the production line. Fully refurbished by our in-house team condition of the interior is excellent, with no major wear or sagging of the bolsters and the chequered inserts free from any unsightly stains or marks. Just in front of the gear stick sits the special Evolution 2 numbered plaque, confirming the build number of the special edition vehicle.

The original leather steering wheel feels fresh despite the cars mileage, as does the gearknob and surrounding switchgear, whilst all electronics work as expected and feel tactile in the process, a nod to the build quality and attention to detail that has become synonymous with BMW over the years.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Equipped with a later, more powerful version of BMW’s iconic S14 Engine (the S14B23) the EVO 2 produced nearly 30bhp more than the standard M3 and was the highest capacity 2.3L BMW used in the road going M3s and build for homologation purposes. By using an aluminium head BMW were able to keep weight down significantly improving the cars handling over its competitors.

As with all European E30 M3’s the car has a 5 speed dog leg gearbox that feels tight and provides a quick change between 2nd and 3rd gear, the Evo 2 utilising the same ratios but a shorter final drive.

Fully stripped and rebuilt by our in-house BMW trained specialist the motor and drivetrain of this Evo 2 have been subject to a substantial spend in parts and labour, giving this incredible car a whole new lease of life while also a refresh of the engine compartment.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The car is fitted with the standard Evolution 2 16″ BBS cross spoke alloys, all of which show free from any signs of curbing or fading and are shod in matching Yokohama Neova tyres all around.

Brakes have been treated to a full overhaul, with the callipers stripped and rebuilt before new pads and discs were fitted all around.

HISTORY FILE
Built in 1989 for the European market this stunning E30 M3 Evolution II is car number 102 of just 501 built. The car was imported to the UK in 1997 and has remained ion the country ever since, with a comprehensive history file of MOTs and invoices tracking the cars life over the past 24 years. Purchased by the current owner in 2009 this Evo 2 was used sparingly in its recent life, covering just 6k miles with the owner as tracked by MOT history.

Upon arrival to us the car was subject to a substantial amount of restorative work to bring the M3 back to its former glory. Mechanically no stone has been left unturned, with our in house team carrying out works that include a full engine rebuild, new timing chain, clutch master cylinder, heater valve, prop shaft donuts and a complete refurbishment of the braking system. Works run in excess of £10k including parts and labour, ensuring the mechanically this M3 is now one of the finest on the road.

Present with the car is a 20+ year file of service invoices, photos, MOTs, the original folder and books and the V5. It carries the number plate E102 EVO.
