The Touring was the sporty hatchback model which was slightly more expensive compared to the standard 2-drs version, and only available with the more powerful engines. The early Tourings were called "2000" instead of "2002", which changed in 1972. This example has the 130 bhp 2,0 litre engine with Kügelfischer fuel injection, and can be considered as one of BMW's most succesful engines, both for road and competition use. Only 5058 examples of the 2000 tii touring were produced, which makes it quite a rare car. On top of that, this BMW is still in remarkable original and unrestored condition. Apart from a repaint some years ago in the original Sierra Beige colour, this car is still as it left the factory with an original interior and a very sound body. The fact that it was delivered in Palermo - Sicily when new is probably the reason why it is still such a nice and rustfree car.

Driving this seventies sensation is a delight, with good performance, easy gearchanges and strong braking. It really is hard to believe that this BMW is now almost 50 years old, and probably the very first car for the public which introduced the "Freude am Fahren" monniker.
