Beyond Your Wildest Dreams – Aston Martin Lagonda

Every so often, a brand takes an unexpected leap — and that’s exactly what Aston Martin did with the Lagonda. In the 1970s, designer William Towns decided to break away from convention and take a radically new direction. While the automotive world was still filled with elegant, curving shapes, Towns threw traditional design norms out the window and chose sharp, angular lines instead. Who, in their right mind, would dare to create something so futuristic and unconventional in an era dominated by flowing forms and refined elegance? Towns thought far beyond the ordinary — and though it was bold, it undeniably worked.

The Lagonda was ahead of its time: the world’s first production car with a fully digital dashboard and touch-sensitive controls. At the time, it was also the most expensive production car in the world!

In 1987, the Lagonda received a facelift, giving rise to the Series 4. This version featured a slightly softer design, with fewer razor-sharp edges, yet retained its unmistakable, iconic character. Only 72 left-hand-drive examples of the Aston Martin Lagonda Series 4 were ever produced, making it one of the rarest models in the marque’s history.

The Cool Classic Club proudly presents a stunning example — a Brussels-delivered 1992 model, one of the very last ever produced. With an original price tag of 900,000 French Francs, this Lagonda was anything but a bargain back in the day.

Finished in striking Lagonda Red with a Magnolia 3997 interior and deep red leather upholstery (3086), the car is in superb condition. It comes complete with test reports, invoices dating back to day one, and even original email correspondence between the buyer and Aston Martin — an exceptionally well-documented history. The first owner cherished and maintained this car with passion and care all the way up to 2023. Moreover, it retains its matching numbers and has been meticulously serviced by Aston Martin Service Michiels in Belgium.
