One of 47 cars fitted with high-performance DB/D engine and twin exhaust system
Supplied new to French Algeria; just four owners from new
Presents in its factory-correct colour scheme of Desert White over Red Connolly leather
Subject to a complete restoration by Clark & Carter Restorations

Produced between 1957 and 1959, the Mark III evolved from the DB2/4, with one of its most notable design changes being the DBS3-style grille. The engine was enlarged to 3.0 litres, producing 162 horsepower as standard, though selecting the DB/D engine increased output to 180 horsepower.

This particular Mark III is one of just 47 examples fitted with the more powerful DB/D engine. Additionally, it was equipped with twin exhausts, boosting its performance by an extra 16 horsepower. Built as a left-hand-drive model with fully chromed road wheels, the car originally featured a Desert White exterior paired with a Red Connolly leather interior. Chassis AM300/3/1744 was delivered in April 1959 to Établissements J. Vinson in Alger, French Algeria. In 1961, it was transported to France and sold the following year by Sonauto to a buyer in Alpes Maritimes. The car remained with this owner for 18 years before being acquired by A. Sauvan in Cannes, who kept it until 2013, when it became part of The Curated Collection.

At the time of acquisition by the consigning owner, the car was painted grey, but it has since been restored to its original factory colours. During an engine rebuild by Clark & Carter Restorations, the timing case was replaced, though the original (stamped DBD/1429) is still with the car. With its striking specification and powerful engine, this Mark III is a fantastic example, equally suited for driving enjoyment or display with pride.
