This specific Alfa Romeo 2600 Spider Carrozzeria Touring was manufactured on 30 October 1964 and sold on 30 November 1964 to Alfa Romeo Inc., Newark, USA.

Presented as ordered new in red with a black ‘finta pelle’ interior. The car now has leather instead of plastic. The car comes with records of service history and documentation, including pictures, of the restoration.

This very nice 2600 Spider was imported into Holland in 1996. Pictures from the car as found in a barn in the United States show a very straight and complete intact car but requiring restoration.

In 1997 the Dutch Alfa Romeo enthusiast embarked upon a thorough restoration. Everything was taken apart. When the car was finished it was hardly used and in 2014 sold to the current collector. More recently the engine was rebuilt and also the Solex carburetors.

With the car come several pictures and invoices for work done. This is a rare late production car which has disc brakes on all 4 wheels.

The car shows very well with good paintwork and with excellent panel fit. The interior was nicely retrimmed in soft leather and the mohair cloth hood is tightly fitted. The underside is clean and straight showing new floor panels and new sills.  The engine starts well and shows healthy oilpressure and pulls very well. The 5 speed gearbox is smooth and shifts very well.

Since restoration the car has done only 540 miles (850 km) so still requires running in.

The Alfa 2600 has a 2.6 litre 6 cylinder with twin overhead camshafts giving 145 bhp from its all aluminium engine combined with a 5 speed gearbox. Top speed is 200 km/h but the car will cruise all day at 140 km/h.
