Description
Rare and beautiful Porsche 997 - GT3 RS 3.6L - from 2007.
The latest Porsche series with Hans Metzger's fabulous engine and fitted with 19" ten-spoke wheels, a fixed spoiler, limited slip rear differential and traction control, the GT3's 3.6L engine with 415 hp can achieve a top speed of 310 km/h and 0-100 km/h in 4.3 seconds.
The sport mode can be switched off on the road.
Unlike the Carrera, the GT3 is equipped with a high-performance naturally aspirated engine.
It is a so-called "light" sports car, meaning that it does not have peak power but rather its performance is achieved thanks to its reduced weight and the use of specific components (gearbox, chassis, etc.).
The engine is tuned to give its maximum at high revs and is not supercharged. The philosophy of the GT3 is in contrast to that of the GT2, which is a supercar with more power but with an engine that is largely supercharged for medium revs.
According to the British magazine Car Magazine, the Porsche 911 GT3 is one of the most powerful models of the German brand to date.
This 911's naturally-aspirated engine produces a fabulous sound that is fundamentally different from the one usually associated with the Carrera's Flat 6s.
This sound starts to change dramatically at 4,000 rpm, when the exhausts open up, intensifying up to 8,500 rpm.
This RS version of the GT3 is a reference to the sportier 911 model that came before.
It has the same characteristics as the regular GT3 (997), but this one is designed for the racetrack, so the chassis height, wheel camber, track, front and rear axle stabiliser bars are all individually adjustable, the rear window is made of polycarbonate, and the spoiler is made of carbon.
The car is now 20 kg lighter and the wheelbase has been lengthened by 5 mm. This allows the RS version to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds.
In addition, it has carbon bucket seats with a six-point harness, roll bars, an electric kill switch, and alcantara on the steering wheel, gear lever and hand brake.
This car is in near concours condition.
Known and serviced by Porsche.
The roll bar is signed by its former owner François Delecour (French rally driver). This Classic Car is for sale on Catawiki. To have more information or to place a bid click on the "BID NOW" button.
