Description

HISTORY:
In Paris in 1998, with the introduction of the all-new 3200GT, Maserati returned to its roots by presenting a pure-bred Gran Turismo in the great tradition of the marque and thus ending the era of the Biturbo.
The engine, positioned at the front, is a 3200 cm³ V8, supercharged with two IHI turbines, producing 368 bhp at 6250 rpm, derived from the one already used on the Quattroporte and allowing the 3200 GT to reach a top speed of 285 km/h and sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 5 seconds flat.
The gearbox was offered with a 6-speed manual transmission (ZF) or a 4-speed automatic transmission (BTR).
Giugiaro's design, just like his previous creations for Maserati, is a true masterpiece in the history of motoring, and it was thanks to this model that Maserati returned to sales in 1998.
The boomerang-shaped rear light clusters were an absolute novelty for a production car using LED technology, but they conflicted with US directives on night visibility, so in 2001, Maserati presented a sportier version called "Assetto Corsa", with rear lights that could be homologated in that market.
A total of 4,795 examples of the 3200 GT were produced, 2,689 with manual transmission and 2,106 with automatic transmission.

OUR CAR:
This wonderful 3200 GT began its life as a Japanese import.
It was sold new to Osaka to a Maserati collector who kept the car for quite a few years before the car was exported to Belgium.
Japan is a place where these type of cars are well cherished and looked after and there is a huge following on classic Italian sports cars.
A beautiful colour combination of one of the real true great Maseratis made at the end of the 20’th century.
Completed with an excellently preserved red leather interior and perfectly functioning original instrumentation.
Recently overhauled engine. - Friezes, lettering and bumpers as new. - Exhausts in excellent condition - Original wheels as new. -
A car that can still give strong emotions even to the most demanding Trident enthusiast.
