Description

Unrestored, in concours condition, appropriate and provable history, proveable milage, second owner car, beautiful to drive.

History:
The vehicle was first delivered to the embassy of Qatar in Geneva, Switzerland in 1974. There only Sheikh Al Thani (Sheikh Ahmad Bin Ali Al Thani) was chauffered in it. The chauffeur was specially trained at Mercedes in Stuttgart in taking care of the vehiclle and was therefore the only one allowed to drive it.
Sold to Bavaria, Germany in 1992, the vehicle was in the hands of my grandfather until recently. The purchase in 1992 was very emotional, as he had been looking for such a vehicle for almost 20 years. In his hands, the vehicle was always treated with great respect, care and affection, which led to its perfect original condition today. At first, it was only ever registered in the summer, later with a seasonal licence plate, and finally with a historical registration. Serviced at the Mercedes-Benz dealership under special care. The vehicle has always received an excellent to very good rating in all valuations.

Condition:
The vehicle did not make any big public appearances, as it had always been my grandfather's treasure. He always warmed up the car before driving it and covered the velour seats. The car has always stood in a heated garage.
The hydropneumatic suspension is permanently supplied with compressed air as recommended by the Mercedes-Benz Museum. The compressed air reservoir was replaced by a stainless steel reservoir (custom-made), the original is still existent.
The brake system of the front axle has been upgraded to a more powerful one by specialists with original Merrcedes parts. It now brakes like a modern vehicle.
Nothing is worn out or used up, the technology is fully functional, completely rust free. The vehicle is in the condition of an almost unused original, i.e. in a condition worthy of a museum.
Please refer to the pictures for more details.

Features:
The windows, the sunroof, the closing mechanism of the trunk operate hydropneumatic. It has a fridge between the front seats. It has airconditioning and powerstearing.
The 600 does not have a partition wall, therefore the driver`s seat can be adjusted to fit a driver taller than 170 cm (5'6 feet).
Even though the car has never seen the desert, it has been fitted with special equiptment by factory, ment for desert like circumstances. By special request the car received underride guards and dust tight, factory tested passenger compartment seals.

Conclusion:
Despite the low milage the car is very much suitable to be driven. Not just by a chauffeur but by someone who knows how to appreciate it. Due to its beauty the reactions to the car are never jealousy, not even in Germany. The car is for sale by private, due to a rearrangement of the collection.
