Description

This Jaguar D-Type replica was built in the UK several decades ago using a Realm Engineering kit. It was imported to the US approximately 20 years ago and was acquired by the seller in 2022 from a Jaguar enthusiast in Arizona. The car features fiberglass bodywork finished in British Racing Green over a tubular space-frame chassis, and power comes from a 3.8-liter XK inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission, both of which are said to have been sourced from an XKE.
The car features clear headlight covers, turn signals, bonnet louvers, leather hold-down straps, an acrylic wraparound windscreen, a removable passenger-side tonneau cover, a side-exit exhaust, and a driver-side faring.
Other features include distressed green leather seats and a transmission tunnel trimmed in green upholstery, a Moto-Lita steering wheel, triple Weber 45 DCOE carburetors, four-wheel disc brakes, upper control arms sourced from a Jaguar Mark II, Realm lower control arms, and an XKE-sourced rear end.
The wood-rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel fronts a black dash panel housing Smiths instrumentation including a 6k-rpm tachometer and a 160-mph speedometer. The five-digit odometer shows 86,700 miles. The fully operable Smith's gauges along with several marked toggle switches adorn the dash, and other interior appointments include Crow 3-point seat harnesses, as well as a tonneau cover that spans both passenger and driver seats. The car runs strong, straight and true, and fires up every time with an exceptional exhaust note emanating from the passenger side - located exhaust. The car has been featured at several Jaguar club events as well as classic car shows in the Dallas / Ft. Worth area, and always draws the largest crowd. The LeMans fairing that trails the driver is a sight to behold and sets this car apart from all others.
This D-Type replica is now offered with a clean Montana title listing the car as a 1953 Jaguar XK120.
