Description
Auto Storica is pleased to introduce you this impressive Ford GT finished in Classic Mark IV Red, with two owners in its history and with Spanish registration since its purchase from brand new in the U.S.A. Including the four factory options, among them is the McIntosh stereo with subwoofer, BBS aluminum wheels, gray brake calipers, and the stripes that adorn its bodywork from the front as well as on the sides.
With just over 7,000 miles (11.265Km), this unit features an optional Red Clearcoat paint finish with white Racing Stripe Lines and features a black leather interior with a choice of sport seats. This GT is definitely in excellent collector's condition.
All gauges work perfectly, the driver and passenger seats as well as the interior, are also in excellent condition. The car is with all the documentation, the books, the two keys, and all the maintenance history.
About the model:
Paying tribute to the legendary Ford GT40 that won the 24 Hours at Le Mans four times in a row. Ford introduced GT development in 2002 and production began in 2004 for the 2005 and 2006 model years. A total of 4,500 units were scheduled, but only 4,038 were actually produced.
The Ford GT features many new and unique technologies, including, aluminum bodywork, a friction and stir welded center tunnel, magnesium center console, a capless fuel filler system, one-piece door panels and a dash cover. Aluminum motor with a one-piece carbon fiber interior panel. The brakes are four-piston aluminum Brembo calipers with perforated and ventilated discs. When the rear hood is opened, the rear suspension and engine components are visible. The centrally located 5.4L V8 engine is all aluminum with a Lysholm supercharger. It features a forged swivel assembly housed in an aluminum block designed specifically for the GT program. A dry sump lubrication system is employed, allowing the engine to sit low on the car's frame. The DOHC 4-valve cylinder heads are a rebuild of the 2000 Ford
Mustang SVT Cobra R cylinder heads with a slightly increased cast wall thickness at the exhaust port. The camshafts have unique specifications, with more lift and durability than found on the Shelby GT500. The power output is 550 HP at 6500 rpm and 678Nm at 3750 rpm. It has a six-speed manual transmission and is equipped with a limited-slip differential.
“Car and Driver” magazine tested the GT in January 2004 and posted a 0-60 mph time of 3.3 seconds, with a 5-60 MPH time of 3.7 seconds. Top speed is 205 MPH and the quarter mile is eaten in 11.8 seconds.
