Equipped with a 4.0-litre flat-sixproducing 500bhp in a body that developed more than double the downforce of the 997 GT3RS 4.0, the 991 boasted rear-axle steering, a seven-speed PDK gearbox and huge 21" rear wheels borrowed from the 918 Spyder.It featured unique front bumperlouvres, rear side-quarter intakes, and a large adjustable rear wing. Lightweight materials such as carbon fibre were used for the bumpers,engine cover and bonnet and the roof wasmagnesium in an effort to render the GT3 RS as svelte as possible, not entirely successful as the resultwas the biggest, widest and heaviest RS ever, but that didn't matter.
