Zur Geschichte des Volkswagens kann man folgendes sagen:

Er wurde 1960 von einem Hühnerfarmer als Neuwagen gekauft. Die ersten 20 Jahre wurden darin größtenteils Eier transportiert, was den unglaublichen Erhaltungszustand des Innenraums erklärt. In diesen 20 Jahren legte der Erstbesitzer ca. 30.000 Meilen zurück. #
Er verkaufte den Wagen an einen bekannten VW Sammler aus Seattle.

In der Folge wechselte er einige Male den Besitzer (alle Sammler). Irgendwann war der Kombi Teil eines großen Automobilmuseums, wo er auch die neue Außenlackierung bekam. Das Finish dieser Lackierung ist außergewöhnlich und wirkt bei augenscheinlicher Betrachtung noch spektakulärer als auf den Bildern. Das tolle dabei ist dass die Lackierung dem Bus nicht die Optik eines überrestaurierten Fahrzeuges gibt sondern einen korrekten Neuwagen-Look ohne überflüssige dicke Füller- und grundierungsschichten um die unrichtige Spiegelwirkung der Seiten zu erreichen.

Es ist nach wie vor die originale Struktur und Form der gepressten Blechteile mit den originalen Schweißpunkten zu erkennen! So wie es sein soll.
Das für einen Kombi korrekte Fehlen der Seitenverkleidungen gibt den Blick auf die werkseitig matt grau lackierten Bereiche des Innenraums frei und macht es leicht den absolut trockenen und unfallfreien Zustand des Busses zu erkennen. Ein Zeugnis seines nahezu jungfräulichen Zustandes.

Der Originalmotor wurde vor ca. 13.000 Meilen überholt, wofür es Unterlagen gibt.
Dieses Fahrzeug ist mit einer sehr seltenen Mehrausstattung versehen, sie wird als Trennwand mit Schiebefenster bezeichnet und wurde vom Hühner Farmer speziell bestellt.

Bekanntermaßen gibt es nicht viele Busse auf der Welt welche sich in einem derart guten originalen Erhaltungszustand befinden. Das Modell „Kombi“ aus der Baureihe T1 wurde im Gegensatz zu den Modellen „Samba“ und Wohnmobil meist gewerblich genutzt und verschlissen. Aus diesem Grund ist das Modell „Kombi“ heute wesentlich seltener verfügbar als die vorgenannten Modelle. Aus kraftfahrzeughistorischer Sicht ist dieser Kombi heute ein wichtiges Zeitzeugnis für die erfolgreiche Entwicklung des VW T 1.

To the history of the Volkswagen one can say the following:

It was bought in 1960 by a chicken farmer as a new car. Most of the first 20 years were spent transporting eggs, which explains the incredible state of preservation of the interior. In these 20 years the first owner covered about 30,000 miles. #
He sold the car to a well-known VW collector from Seattle.

Subsequently he changed owners several times (all collectors). At some point the station wagon was part of a large automobile museum, where it also got the new exterior paintwork. The finish of this painting is extraordinary and looks even more spectacular than on the pictures. The great thing about it is that the paint doesn't give the bus the look of an over-restored vehicle but a correct new car look without superfluous thick filler and primer layers to achieve the incorrect mirror effect of the sides.

The original structure and shape of the pressed sheet metal parts with the original weld spots can still be seen! As it should be.
The correct absence of the side panels for a station wagon reveals the areas of the interior painted matt grey at the factory and makes it easy to recognise the absolutely dry and accident-free condition of the bus. A testimony to its almost virgin condition.

The original engine was overhauled about 13,000 miles ago, for which documents are available.
This vehicle is provided with a very rare additional equipment, it is called a partition wall with sliding window and was specially ordered by the chicken farmer.

It is well known that there are not many buses in the world which are in such a good original condition. The model "Kombi" from the series T1 was in contrast to the models "Samba" and motorhome mostly commercially used and worn. For this reason the model "Kombi" is much less available today than the aforementioned models. From the point of view of motor vehicle history, this station wagon is today an important testimony to the successful development of the VW T 1.
