‘Ferrari through the ages’ was the theme of this year’s Foskers Concours d’Elegance and Garden Party, which took place on 18 July in the beautiful grounds of Ightham Warren, in the heart of Kent.

James and Shelagh Needham welcomed 250 guests to the event, held in aid of Demelza Hospice Care for Children. The exclusive crowd enjoyed superbly sunny weather and an outstanding display – with such exotic race machinery from David Piper, Bryn Williams and Max Wakefield as a Ferrari P2, 365P, 206 Dino, P4 replica and T33. Joining them was a selection of 288 GTOs, F40s, F50, Dinos, Daytonas, Boxers, 360s and 430s, plus a beautiful 330 GTS and an impressive line-up of 308s through to the 328 series.

As well as the 80-plus Ferraris, a spread of classic road and race Alfas joined the scene in celebration of the marque’s 100th birthday.

“Any Ferrari party would not be complete without some Ferrari music,” said James Needham, describing the magnificent sound of the race car engines which were fired up to the delight of the guests.

Brian Jones, the ‘Voice of Brands Hatch’, was in charge of proceedings, while Sally Brighton gave an insight into the wonderful work carried out by Demelza Hospice Care for Children – and a fantastic £13,000 was then raised by the event’s charity auction.

The organisers would like to thank Foskers Engineering of Brands Hatch, which has been selling, servicing and restoring Ferraris for the past 40 years, and which worked tirelessly to ensure the 2010 event was a success.
