Description
The Fiat 508CS Berlinetta Aerodinamica Mille Miglia is an extremely rare model, with fewer than 15 examples believed to exist worldwide.
As its name suggests, Fiat developed this car specifically for the Mille Miglia. Based on the 508S Barilla Sport Spider—the sports model of the 508 at the time—it featured a 4-speed synchromesh transmission and an overhead valve engine. Designer Mario Revelli de Beaumont collaborated with the aerodynamics laboratory at the University of Turin, which boasted cutting-edge technology at the time, to create the world’s first teardrop-shaped aerodynamic body.
It is said that these beautiful teardrop body lines also had a significant influence on the legendary Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic, unveiled in 1937.
At the Mille Miglia held in May 1936, the year following its debut, Italian driver Alberto Commulato competed in this model and achieved an impressive result, finishing 2nd in class and 14th overall.
This vehicle was imported through the mediation of a renowned Japanese classic car enthusiast; it was previously owned by a classic car collector in Argentina in the early 2000s.
It comes with a FIVA certificate (grade A/3) obtained by the previous owner.
From around 2011 to 2022, the vehicle underwent meticulous maintenance on its engine, suspension, differential, and other mechanical components, and successfully completed numerous classic car events.
This is a highly valuable vehicle that has participated in classic car events around the world and is listed on the “List of eligible cars” for Italy’s 1000 Miglia (Mille Miglia)—an event hailed as “the world’s most beautiful car race” (and simultaneously one with the highest entry requirements).
We will arrange to have this 508MM safely transported anywhere in the world.
