Bei seinem Erscheinen 1994 war er der stärkste und schnellste je gebaute Serien-Audi, und bis zum Erscheinen des Audi S6 Plus im April 1996 das leistungsfähigste Fahrzeug in der Modellpalette von Audi. Werksintern wurde der Avant RS2 als P1 (P für Porsche) geführt und so bezeichnet. Kombiniertes Audi- und Porsche-Logo am Heck
Auch auf dem Emblem/Logo ist der Porsche-Schriftzug vorhanden und deutet auf die Zusammenarbeit der beiden Automobilhersteller hin.

„Ich sehe in der heutigen Zeit einen der größten Vorteile dieses Modells darin, dass es mehr wie ein normales Familienauto ausschaut, jedoch die Fahrleistungen eines reinrassigen Sportwagens bietet. Der RS2 ist eine echte Sportwagenalternative mit viel Platz für Personen und Gepäck. Motorleistung, Fahrverhalten, Bremse – das ist ein homogenes Ganzes, da passt alles zusammen.“

Zustand:
Unfallfrei, 80% Originallack. Umfangreiche Instandsetzungsarbeiten (18.000 Euro) incl. u.a. großem Service mit Zahnriemen, Vorderachse komplett revidiert, Bremse komplett revidiert, VA 993 Edelstahlauspuff, KW-Fahrwerk. Keinerlei Reparaturstau. Das Fahrzeug hat als Sonderausstattung Sitzbezüge komplett in schwarzem Seidennappa.

When it was launched in 1994, it was the most powerful and fastest production Audi ever built, and until the release of the Audi S6 Plus in April 1996, the most powerful vehicle in the Audi model range. Extensive repair work (18,000 euros) including major service with timing belt, front axle completely overhauled, brakes completely overhauled, VA 993 stainless steel exhaust, KW suspension. No repairs pending. The vehicle has optional seat covers in black silk nappa leather.
