Description

The model
Already recognised as one of the great sports car marques thanks to the 356, Porsche introduced the 901...well, the 911, at the 1963 Frankfurt Motor Show.
Since its introduction, the 911 has been highly appreciated for its performance, from racing drivers to simple sports car enthusiasts, everybody liked it. However, every production car can be offered in different versions, and the 911 was no exception!
In the following years, the 911 was given the Targa, L, S, R versions, and finally in 1968, the T version. This “Touring” 911 became the entry-level model, with a sober interior similar to the 912. The exterior was also simplified, and featured the famous “Fuchs” wheels in 14- inch.
Mechanically, the 110bhp 2.0-litre flat-6 engine is fitted with a 4-speed gearbox, and is soon replaced by the 130bhp 2.2 version in 1970.
This 911 is so simple that it weighs much less than its larger siblings, an heavy (or rather light) argument that convinced many amateur drivers to choose the ‘Touring’ for its greater agility.
The 911T was buyers’ favorite from making its lack of options a strength, but it was also by retaining the power, reliability and ease of driving of its entire lineage that it won their hearts.

The car
This very example is a 911 2.2T, delivered new in June 1970 under the warm sun of San Antonio, Texas.
Its first owner was undoubtedly well advised to make the choice of a Bourgogne paintwork over a beige leather and pepita fabric, a very refined and extremely rare configuration.
55 years after it came out of the factory, this magnificent Coupe is still matching numbers, attesting the great care that has been taken to keep its mechanics in shape over the last few decades.
Its original mechanics and colour combination were preserved during the extensive restoration recently carried out on the car. This magnificent example is also accompanied by the car's original instruction manuals, allowing you to have the same experience as its first owner when he received the car in 1970.
Today we are happy to offer this gorgeous car for sale, in perfect as-original condition and ready to drive any distance. With such a tasteful configuration, this 911T will turn heads, but people certainly won’t be fast enough for that!
