Developed from the original Mini platform introduced by Alec Issigonis, the Pick-up version retained the front-wheel-drive layout and transverse engine, allowing for a remarkably spacious load area despite its tiny footprint. Its' simple, boxy rear bed and drop-down tailgate made it ideal for light commercial work, from market deliveries to tradespeople's daily tasks.Powered by a small A-series engine, typically around 848cc, the Mini Pick-up was not built for speed, but for efficiency and manoeuvrability. Its low weight and tight turning circle made it perfectly suited to narrow city streets and crowded urban environments. Drivers appreciated its car-like handling, which was far more comfortable and agile than most small vans of the era.Visually, the model carries the unmistakable Mini styling, with round headlights, a compact grille, and minimal overhangs. The exposed rear bed, often fitted with a canvas cover, gave it a purposeful yet endearing appearance. Inside, the cabin was basic but functional, featuring a central speedometer and straightforward controls. The Mini Pick-up continues to symbolise efficient engineering and timeless British design.

This Mini Pick-up has been restored to a superb standard. The vendor is a very knowledgeable and a capable engineer. The car was stripped to a bare shell, any corrosion cut-out and replacement panels welded in. The paintwork is finished to a high standard and the interior, although sparse, is also in good order. Mechanically, this Mini is in very good order, the cylinder head was removed and converted to run on unleaded fuel. Manufactured in 1961 but registered in 1962, this Mini Pick-up has the customary starter button on the floor and long gear lever. Mini Pick-ups in virtual concours condition are exceedingly difficult to find and today, the rarity, combined with its distinctive character, ensures it remains a standout example of British automotive creativity and resourcefulness.
