To celebrate the end of the 2022 Formula 1 season, Mercedes-AMG created one of its most exclusive pieces: the SL 63 Motorsport Collectors Edition. Limited to just 100 units worldwide, it combines the technological DNA of Affalterbach with a design directly inspired by the Mercedes-AMG F1 W13 E Performance Formula 1 car.

On the outside, this special edition stands out with a unique gradient from grey to black towards the rear, enhanced by star-pattern graphics along the flanks. Petronas green accents on the front bumper, side skirts, rear diffuser, and the rim stripes of the 21-inch AMG forged wheels in matte black immediately recall the world of Formula 1. A black electric soft top completes the silhouette, ready to retract in just seconds to open up the sky.

Aerodynamics are optimized thanks to the AMG Aerodynamics Package: more aggressive front and rear spoilers, a prominent diffuser, and a sculpted underbody. The AMG Night Package I and II further enhance the dark, race-inspired character with high-gloss black and black chrome finishes on the mirror housings, diffuser, grille, badges, and rear emblem. Darkened headlights and taillights, black exhaust tips, and black brake calipers complete the muscular appearance.

Inside, refined sportiness takes center stage: standard AMG Performance seats upholstered in black Nappa leather and Microcut microfiber, with red or yellow contrast stitching to choose from and an embossed AMG emblem on the headrests. Carbon fiber accents appear on the center console and the heated AMG Performance steering wheel, underlining the car’s sporting intent.

The equipment list is extensive: Burmester 3D audio system, ambient lighting, head-up display, driver assistance package, MBUX voice control, and AMG Track Pace to record your performance on track. Illuminated door sills and the Guard 360° security system further enhance the premium experience.

Under the hood, the AMG 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 delivers 585 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque, launching this convertible from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, accompanied by the raw and intoxicating soundtrack that defines Affalterbach models.
