The Ferrari Testarossa is a Ferrari sports car from 1984. It is one of Ferrari's most famous models.

The name of the Testarossa, like that of the 288 GTO, also released in 1984, refers to a prestigious model from the 250 series, the 250 Testa Rossa. The name Testarossa means "Red Head" in Italian, referring to the red color of the valve covers (the cylinder heads are aluminum). The car was designed by Pininfarina, and one of the features that made it an icon of the 1980s were the characteristic air vents in the doors, which were also used in later models. These are also known as "egg slicers."

Furthermore, the Testarossa, along with the Ferrari 348 inspired by it, is one of the few models without the characteristic round taillights. This model is equipped with a twelve-cylinder engine. A total of 7,177 units of this model were produced. The 1984 and 1985 models had a single side mirror, on the driver's side, located halfway down the A-pillar.

In 1986, following several complaints from Testarossa owners, Ferrari decided to place the mirror in its usual location at the bottom of the A-pillar and also added a right-hand side mirror. The Testarossa was the last 180° V12 (flat-lying) engine Ferrari built in the 1980s and was known as the 512TR and 512M in the final models delivered.

The Testarossa and the Berlinetta Boxer had a 180° V12 engine, not a 12-cylinder boxer engine, as the name suggested.

In 1986, the only official roadster model of the Testarossa was produced. This one was for Gianni Agnelli, marking his 20th anniversary as Fiat's CEO. Designer Pininfarina and other suppliers such as Koenig, Rankl, and Straman also produced roadsters, but these are not official Ferrari models.

The Ferrari Testarossa owes its popularity to the general public to the popular 1980s police series Miami Vice, in which it played a prominent role.

The Testarossa shown here is a Series II model, meaning it has two mirrors and wheels secured with five bolts. It has very few kilometers on the clock, namely 33,608 km. It still has the beautiful black leather interior. The entire car shows that this Ferrari has been driven sparingly. Prices for the Testarossa are rising. All in all, a top-notch Testarossa for the serious collector.
