The 512 TR stands as the ultimate refinement of the Testarossa concept. The 4.9 litre twelve cylinder delivers 428 hp and reacts noticeably more directly to the throttle. By lowering the engine block 30 millimetres in the chassis, the handling was transformed from tricky to stable and precise. The gearbox was also thoroughly revised for smoother and faster shifting. The exterior looks more modern due to the colour coded bumpers and larger 18 inch wheels which accommodated stronger brakes. Inside, the 512 TR received a cleaner dashboard and better positioned controls.

Nice detail: although the cylinders lie flat opposite each other, technically this is not a boxer engine but a 180 degree V12, which creates the unique sound.

De 512 TR geldt als de ultieme vervolmaking van het Testarossa concept. De 4,9 liter twaalfcilinder levert 428 pk en reageert merkbaar directer op het gas. Doordat het motorblok 30 millimeter lager in het chassis werd gelegd, is het weggedrag getransformeerd van listig naar stabiel en precies. Ook de versnellingsbak werd grondig herzien voor soepeler en sneller schakelen. Het exterieur oogt moderner door de meegespoten bumpers en de grotere 18-inch wielen die ruimte boden aan sterkere remmen. Binnenin kreeg de 512 TR een strakker dashboard en beter geplaatste bedieningselementen.

Leuk detail: hoewel de cilinders plat tegenover elkaar liggen, is dit technisch gezien geen boxermotor maar een 180-graden V12, wat zorgt voor de unieke klank.

La 512 TR s'impose comme l'aboutissement ultime du concept Testarossa. Le douze cylindres de 4,9 litres développe 428 ch et réagit de manière nettement plus directe à l'accélérateur. En abaissant le bloc moteur de 30 millimètres dans le châssis, le comportement routier a été métamorphosé, passant de délicat à stable et précis. La boîte de vitesses a également été profondément revue pour des passages de rapports plus fluides et rapides. L'extérieur paraît plus moderne grâce aux pare-chocs peints ton caisse et aux jantes de 18 pouces plus larges laissant place à des freins plus puissants. À l'intérieur, la 512 TR a reçu un tableau de bord plus épuré et des commandes mieux positionnées.

Détail intéressant : bien que les cylindres soient opposés à plat, il ne s'agit pas techniquement d'un moteur boxer mais d'un V12 à 180 degrés, ce qui procure cette sonorité unique.
