What a great shame that cars like the Citroën DS21 M Pallas could never again could enter the market these days. It is an ageless and gorgeous model. It makes you wonder how Citroën would now envisage the DS. This model has a very distinguished finish of dark grey topped with a blacked roof. The car was originally delivered to a customer in the town of Porto, Portugal in 1968. The car always resided in the warm Portuguese climate.

The paintwork has recently been redone and is in an excellent state. The arrow sharp panelwork is evenly thin and correctly aligned. The brightwork, headlights and other authentic parts are all peerless. The original steel rims have chrome hubcaps. Other matters such as the door rubbers and windows are similarly in very fine condition.

The interior has been reupholstered with fine black leather on the seats offset by light grey carpets. The leather is and looks wonderfully supple. The carpet fitting has been done very well. Gauges and controls look good and are all in great working order. Headlining and brightwork are too all up to standard.

The DS21 has a 2.1 litre 4-cylinder engine attached to a semi-automatic 4-speed transmission. The DS is of course famed for its sublime road handling courtesy of hydropneumatic suspension. It was so good Rolls-Royce used a variation in its cars. Comfort is matchless when travelling in the DS. The same hydraulic system is responsible for the perfectly responsive brakes. The sound mechanical state of the car is down to continued diligent maintenance. The engine and semi-automatic both work smoothly. Not only will you not ever see the DS shape back again you will also not encounter this kind of road handling. Manufacturers currently prefer looks above handling with the use of ever larger wheels. That would have been inconceivable with this DS generation of designers as well as being totally unnecessary as it is such a thing of beauty.

This is a beautifully presented, maintained and luxuriously equipped 1968 Citroën DS21 M Pallas.
