Description

Supplied new by Aston Martin Sales Ltd on 6th January 1977, this ‘Series 3’ V8 saloon was originally finished in Imperial Blue coachwork with Fawn hides and Sandringham Beige carpets and fitted with automatic transmission

Sold new to John Warnock (Montrose) Ltd from the iconic Aston Sales Ltd showrooms at 33 Sloane Square and originally registered PYN 185R, the V8 was later exported to Australia and repatriated to the UK in 2015 and acquired by the current owner in September 2016

After using the car throughout the Autumn of 2016, the owner commissioned marque specialists Aston Service London to conduct an inspection report which highlighted several areas requiring improvement, as such a restoration programme between 2016-2023 was undertaken with a total of GBP 152,795 spent on restoration works, all of which are fully documented with invoices and supporting photographs

The main works included a complete engine rebuild to 5.6L by marque exponents Aston Engineering of Derby, extensive chassis and engine bay restoration by ASL, new air conditioning system, gearbox and brake system rebuild, Ronal wheel upgrade with new Michelin Pilot tires, aluminium radiator and cooling system rebuild and ‘Prince of Wales’ front valance amongst many other jobs

Today the car has covered approx. 1000 miles since the works were completed and is in excellent driving condition, performance is brisk with the highly tractable Aston Engineering engine producing 404 lb/ft torque at 2500 rpm and handling greatly improved with the Ronal wheel and Michelin tire upgrade.

The V8 retains its original interior which is in good order and the car is supplied with a comprehensive file outlining the restoration work and copies of the original build sheet and Heritage certificate.

Priced attractively and ready to be enjoyed by its next custodian for comfortable and fast long distance touring!
