History: The car left the Arese factory on 31 October 1958 and was sold a month later in New York. The earliest historical information in the file dates back to 1971, when the car belonged to a certain Lawrence Copeland in Illinois. In October 1990, he sold the car to a collector who kept it for three years. In 1993, the car was purchased by an Alfa Romeo enthusiast in Oregon. He kept the car for around 30 years before selling it to the current owner, who lives in the south of France. We have the old titles and contact details for the previous owners. The current owner went to collect the car himself in the USA, taking the opportunity to organise a road trip lasting several weeks before loading the car for importation into France.

Condition:

Mechanics: The car is in excellent mechanical condition. It was recently fitted with a 2000 engine, perfectly prepared by Spruell Motorsport in 2015 (the car is sold with its complete 1300 engine from 1958 (AR1315). This sprint car embodies the spirit of the gentleman driver in every way (powerful and comfortable, elegant and racy). The engine is fierce even at high revs, acceleration is smooth, smoke-free and accompanied by a superb sound! The two Weber 40DCOE carburettors have been recently adjusted. The 5-speed gearbox works perfectly and the synchros are in perfect condition. The car is eligible for historic races (Monte Carlo, Tour Auto, etc.).

Maintenance: A complete file of documents and invoices will be provided with the car. The last service was carried out in April 2025: (all fluids changed, locks replaced, exhaust system aligned, etc.).

Bodywork: As shown in the photos of the underbody on our website, the car has undergone a high-quality restoration. The underbody is sound, with no signs of corrosion or previous accidents. The floors are original and the engine-gearbox-axle assembly is dry. The paintwork, redone in 2004, has a nice patina. We note a few visible chips in the roof rack. The chrome bumpers and hubcaps are included.

Interior: The black leatherette interior is as it was when it left the factory. The grey carpets are in perfect condition. The dashboard, painted in the same colour as the bodywork, has no noticeable defects. Two blue seat belts have been added. The door panels and chrome trim are in perfect condition.
