Description

1931 BSA 500cc OHV Twin Port Sloper. Looks to be an older restoration and still in nice condition with everything working well. Very rare with instrument panel on the handle bars. Runs great with a thumping Motor. The clock looks to have been restored hence low milage. Comes with a V5C log book, Ready to ride!

The S27 featured a twin down-tube frame through which the exhaust pipe from the overhead-valve engine passed and it was equipped with sprung girder front forks and drum brakes front and rear. In 1930, the frame was redesigned to include a forged I-section as the top tube to strengthen the steering head.

The engine featured wet-sump lubrication driven by a hand-metered, gear-type oil pump and a separate oil compartment in the crankcase. The single-port cylinder head was fitted with aluminium casings that enclosed the rockers while leaving the valve springs exposed. The push rods were enclosed and the camshaft featured gradually-curved lobes to minimise wear. Heavy flywheels ensured torque at low revs and top speed was 75mph (121kph). It had a three-speed, hand-change gearbox.
