Which vintage watch would you buy from Phillips in Geneva?

On Saturday 9 November, Phillips will once again take residence at the Hôtel La Réserve for its 10th Geneva Watch Auction, which comprises 179 pieces ranging from a quirky Leonidas naval chronograph estimated at just a few thousand Swiss francs to über-desirable Patek Philippes and Rolexes…

The Geneva Watch Auctions from Phillips have become something of an institution in the horological world and the 10th occasion, poised to take place at the Hôtel La Réserve on 9 November, promises to be another fascinating affair, particularly with the addition of the counterpart sale titled ‘Double Signed: A Celebration of the Finest Partnerships of Manufacturers and Retailers’.

The catalogue is teeming with interesting watches, the variety of which is wide enough to satisfy most tastes and budgets. Pieces that particularly stood out to us include the 1958 Rolex Air-King with ‘Ten Year Safe Driver’ and an image of a hound on its beautifully patinated dial. It was awarded to a bus driver who worked for Greyhound Lines, Inc., a popular North American bus carrier and is excellent condition. We also loved the oh-so-1970s Oysterdate ‘Montecarlo’, the 1968 Omega Speedmaster ‘Ultraman’ and the 18-carat yellow-gold Patek Philippe Nautilus. You can find our highlights from ‘The Geneva Watch Auction: X’ listed below or, alternatively, browse the entire catalogue for the sale in the Classic Driver Market
